I am Pregnant and Under 24
The YWCA has offered a program since 1970 to give pregnant or parenting teenagers an opportunity to finish their educations and improve their chances for better-paying jobs.
Today, the PAGEPlus program continues to provide childcare for school-age parents while offering case management and parenting education as well. What began as the Pregnant Adolescent Girl’s Education (PAGE) program was the first in Springfield to help pregnant and parenting teens stay in school.
For more teen parenting resources, visit the Massachusetts Alliance on Teen Pregnancy at www.massteenpregnancy.org or the Children’s Trust Fund at www.mctf.org.
The YWCA also offers:
- Teen Transitional Living Programs in Springfield and Holyoke.
- Workforce Development programs offering assessment and skills development to low-income, at-risk, and out-of-school youths ages 14 to 21.
- YouthBuild, which provides 16- to 21-year-olds with job training and education while they build low-income housing. The YWCA of Western Massachusetts offered the first co-ed version of this national program.
