You don’t need to spend one more day in an abusive relationship.
Abuse in an intimate relationship can range from cruel words and threats to shattering blows, and is victimizing women of every race, religion, marital status, income level, and sexual orientation. It can happen to men too. It devastates families, and it can be deadly. The numbers don’t lie. In 2021, there were fifteen homicides in Massachusetts that could be directly related to domestic violence. In 2022, the YWCA of Western Massachusetts took 6,516 calls through its hotline and served 1,895 people in supportive programs offered locally. Call the hotline number now and get the help you and your children need.
You are a survivor.
One in three women has experienced some form of physical violence by an intimate partner. It happens to all kinds of women in all kinds of relationships. You don’t need to wait for your relationship to get better, or get worse. It’s not your fault – no one deserves to be abused. The only person responsible for the abuse is the abuser. Physical violence, even among family members, is wrong and illegal.
We’re here for you if you have been victimized, sexually assaulted, or abused.
