3.3 Miles for Change

By March 13, 2025Latest News

Dear Reader,

I’m reaching out to you today in hopes of an act of kindness. My name is Sophie Pariseau, and with the help of family and friends, I am organizing a fundraising walk, Miles for Change. Miles for Change honors the lives of my mom, Sima Pariseau, and my brother, Dylan Pariseau, who were tragically taken from this Earth in an act of domestic violence this past June.

About Miles for Change
Miles for Change is a one-time, 3.3-mile walk created to memorialize my loved ones and to raise awareness about the devastating effects of domestic violence. In turn, all proceeds from this event will be donated to our local YWCA’s Domestic Violence program, which is dedicated to helping individuals who have been affected by domestic violence, as well as providing education to younger generations to be proactive. Our community’s support will be paramount in aiding victims and survivors.

Why Your Support Matters
1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men will experience severe physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime. This means that domestic violence affects millions of people each year—many of whom suffer in silence, with nowhere to turn for help. By supporting Miles for Change, you’re helping to provide that crucial support and raise awareness to end the cycle of violence. This walk is not just about honoring my mom and brother—it’s about showing victims that they are not alone, and that there is help available. By donating to Miles for Change, your business can play an essential role in supporting those who are in need of safety, support, and resources. Your contribution can provide a lifeline for someone who might be struggling in silence.

How You Can Help
There are several ways you can support Miles for Change:
